Chaand raat in a Lahore salon is something to experience. Phones ringing constantly, every chair full, people arriving at eleven at night hoping for a facial, a full set of nails and mehndi before Eid namaz.
We love it. But every year I watch people get less than they hoped for simply because of timing. So here is the plan.
Two weeks before Eid — the big things
Anything that takes hours or needs to settle goes here.
- Hair colour, highlights, balayage or root touch-up. Colour looks better after a few washes, and this is a two to three hour appointment you do not want on chaand raat.
- Keratin, nanoplastia or any smoothing treatment. Needs 72 hours without washing, so it cannot be last-minute.
- Haircut. Two weeks gives it time to settle into its shape.
- Eyelash extensions, if it is your first time. Get them now and you will be used to them by Eid.
- Start a facial course if your skin needs real work rather than a one-off glow.
One week before — book your chaand raat slot now
This is the single most useful thing in this article. Call a week ahead and book your chaand raat appointment. Not on the night. A week before.
Every year the evening slots on chaand raat are gone days in advance, and we end up turning away people we would genuinely like to help. Five minutes on WhatsApp saves that.
Better still, avoid chaand raat entirely
Come two or three days before instead. Same services, no queue, unhurried attention, and your facial has time to settle so your skin actually looks its best on Eid day rather than freshly treated.
Five to seven days before — skin
- Facial. This is the right window. A hydra facial or brightening facial now means you are glowing on Eid rather than red or purging.
- Skin polishing if you want it, same window.
- Any pigmentation or brightening treatment — needs time to show.
A facial on chaand raat is the classic mistake. Extractions leave the skin slightly red, and any purging shows up two days later — which is exactly Eid day.
Two to three days before — hair removal and nails
- Waxing and threading. Two to three days lets redness settle while you are still smooth. Never the same day as your makeup.
- Eyebrow shaping. Same timing, so any tiny bumps settle.
- Mani-pedi. Fresh but settled.
- Nail extensions or gel, if you want them — they last three weeks so doing them now is fine.
- Lash refill if you already have extensions.
Chaand raat — keep it to quick things only
Realistically, these are what fit into a busy night:
- Threading and eyebrow shaping
- Nail polish or gel polish change
- Blow dry or simple styling
- Mehndi / henna
- Hair wash and set
And what genuinely does not fit: hair colour, keratin, a full set of lash extensions, a first-time facial, or a full set of nail extensions. Not because we will not do them, but because each takes two to three hours and you will be waiting while everyone around you is finishing quick services.
Eid morning
If you want makeup done on Eid morning, book it well ahead — those slots go first, and they go early. Bring your outfit or a photo of it. If you are doing your own makeup, remember your skin will be freshly cleansed and moisturised, so give your primer a couple of minutes to settle before foundation or it will slide by mid-morning.
The two-day rule I repeat every Eid
Do not try anything new in the last 48 hours. No first-time facial, no new cream, no bleaching, no threading the night before if your skin marks easily, no new product a cousin recommended.
Every Eid someone reacts to something brand new the night before and there is nothing anyone can do to hide angry, swollen skin by morning. Two quiet days, plenty of water, and whatever your skin already knows. That is the whole rule.
A sensible Eid plan, all in one place
| When | Book this |

| 1 week before | Call and reserve your chaand raat or Eid morning slot |
| 5–7 days before | Facial, skin polishing |
| 2–3 days before | Waxing, threading, brows, mani-pedi, nails, lash refill |
| Chaand raat | Threading, polish change, blow dry, mehndi only |
